## Image Gallery Content

When you set up an **Image Gallery** activity, you can configure a range of options to control how students **view, contribute, and interact with images**. Below is a breakdown of each option and how you can use it in your lesson design.

#### Title

* This is the name of the activity shown to students. Use a **clear and descriptive title** to help students understand the purpose of the task.

#### Instructions / Description

This is where you provide guidance to students on what they need to do:

You can include:

* The **context of the activity**
* Step-by-step instructions
* **Evaluation criteria**
* Expectations for participation

Well-written instructions are essential to ensure students **engage meaningfully with the images**.

### Adding images

#### Add Image

This allows you to upload images that students will analyse and interact with.

You can use this to:

* Provide **core material for evaluation**
* Set up c**ase studies or examples**
* Guide students towards specific learning outcomes

If no images are added, students will only see content **if you allow them to upload their own**.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can upload one or multiple images at once.
{% endhint %}

## Advanced Settings

These options control how students participate, contribute, and interact within the gallery.

#### Allow students to share their own images

When enabled, students can **upload and share their own images** with the class or team/group.

Use this option when you want to:

* Encourage **student-generated content**
* Support **exploration and discovery**
* Enable **peer learning through contributions**

#### Notify instructors when a student submits an image

When enabled, you will receive **a notification each time a student uploads an image**.

This is useful for:

* Monitoring participation in real time
* Reviewing submissions as they are added
* Providing timely feedback

#### Enable feedback

Allows students to interact with **images by providing feedback.**

This can include:

* Comments
* Ratings or rankings (depending on configuration)

Enable this when you want students to **critically evaluate and discuss images**.

#### Allow students to select favourite images

Students **can mark images as favourites**.

This is useful for:

* Identifying **popular or impactful images**
* Encouraging quick engagement
* Supporting informal evaluation

This option works well when you want a **lightweight interaction mechanism**.

#### Allow students to give a rank to images

Students can **formally rate images** based on defined criteria.

You can use this to:

* Structure **peer evaluation**
* Compare student judgements
* Support **assessment or grading activities**

This option is ideal when you want **more rigorous evaluation** than simple favourites.

#### Lock when finished

Prevents students from adding or modifying images after completing the activity.

Use this to:

* Maintain **fairness in assessment scenarios**
* Ensure **final submissions are fixed**
* Prevent late changes after deadlines

### Learning Outcomes

{% hint style="success" %}
**Mapping learning outcomes to activities is very useful for curriculum mapping.**

Add learning outcomes to the activity

As with all activities in LAMS, you can map your learning outcomes to this activity. If you want to add a learning outcome, just search for the particular outcome or type a new one it will be added to your list of learning outcomes for the future.

You can search Learning Outcomes by code or name.
