# Student view

When students land on Q\&A, they are able to see the title, instructions and the questions to be answered.

### Answering questions & rate other answers

Aside from answering the questions, once a student submits the answers, if the teacher has enabled the option to provide rating to other students' answers, the student is able to give a rating from zero to five starts based on a specified criteria (if the option `Allow learners to rate each others answers` is enabled -see [advanced settings](/lams/tools/q-and-a/create.md#advanced-settings)).

#### Commentary on other students' responses

If the option `Allow learners to comment on responses` is enabled (see [advanced settings](/lams/tools/q-and-a/create.md#rate-and-comment-on-each-others-answers)), students are able to comment on their peers' responses.

The comments and ratings students receive are anonymised. Only you, as the lecturer, can see the names of the students who provided the ratings or feedback.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lamsfoundation.org/lams/tools/q-and-a/student-view.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
