Share Resources Content

On the Basic or Content tab, you are able to set:

  1. Title Make sure you use a meaningful title that summarises what the students are meant to do.

  2. Instructions Add general instructions about how to utilise the resources you are sharing.

Resources list

The resources list is the section where you can add resources like URLs and files.

Adding URLs

As a teacher, you can add URL as a resource by specifying the URL and give students' instructions on how to use or utilise the page.

Once URL is pasted, LAMS will attempt to create a preview of the web page by extracting the it's main content, image (if any) and title from it.

If you want the student to rate and/or leave comment on the URL, then enable these options accordingly. Once a student see the resource, the student will be able to leave a rating and/or comment on the content of the URL

If you want to see how these URLs will be viewed by the students, click on the eye icon and will preview the URL

Adding files

Additionally to adding URLs, as a teacher, you can also add files or any kind of media.

Just like when adding a URL, you can specify a title and instructions for the students..

Similarly as wiht URLs, you can also enable ratings and comentary.

If you want to preview how your file will look like when the students open it, click on the preview (eye) icon.

Advanced Settings

Minimum number of resources to view: If you want to enforce how many resources the students must review before completing the activity, set the particular value.

Allow learners to add URLs: Once this option is enabled, students can add the URLs.

Allow learners to add files: Once this option is enabled, students can add the files.

Notifications

If you'd like to get notified by email when a student uploads resources during the lesson, select the option Notify instructors when a learner submits a resource.

Learning Outcomes

Mapping learning outcomes to activities is very useful for curriculum mapping.

As with all activities in LAMS, you can map your learning outcomes to this activity. If you want to add a learning outcome, just search for the particular outcome or type a new one it will be added to your list of learning outcomes for the future.

You can search Learning Outcomes by code or name.

Reflection and End of Activity

As in all LAMS activities, you are able to get your students to reflect on the activity as soon as they finish. This is an important part of learning and research shows that it is when we reflect upon what we just learned that long-lasting learning forms.
