Spreadsheet

The Spreadsheet activity is a tool that allows students to use spreadsheets to create, collect, analyse and storage data in tabular form.

Cells within the spreadsheet can be used for performing basic arithmetic and mathematical functions, or financial accountancy and statistical operations.

In LAMS, the spreadsheet tool can be use in two modes:

  1. Students can use the spreadsheet to collect and create their own analysis and models -which then as teacher you give students marks.

  2. A read-only mode where students can pluck numbers and see the result based on a pre-configure model.

  1. Collect data and perform mathematical analysis.

  2. Automate data processing and analysis by performing mathematical, financial or statistical calculations by using functions.

  3. Expose students to complex data models that they can create or you as teacher can supply for them to use.

Educational Insight

With Spreadsheets helps students to collect and perform data analysis in an structured manner.

What can I use Spreadsheets for?

Spreadsheet is a great tool to structure, organise and analyse data.

Whether you are using Image Gallery for a photography class or for teaching medical diagnostics, it is an helpful tool for students to use, learn and share digital imagery.

How does it work?

As a teacher you can use Spreadsheet to let students work out their own data collection and create their own functions to analyse the data.

Alternatively, you can give the students an analytical model where students can just add their data and see the results based on the calculations in the model.

Students can use the spreadsheet to add their own functions to analyse the data.
