When can I use Support activities?

You can use support activities whenever your learning design might need activities to underpin the pedagogical process.

For instance, in a learning design, you might want to have a Glossary that your students can refer to at any times when they need. A Glossary -as a list of terms in a particular domain of knowledge with the definitions for those terms, is usually not part of an activity that will be essential in the learning process. So it can be added as a support activity instead.

Additionally, you might want to include a Chat or a Forum where students can add questions as they go through the lesson.

Here's how you add support activities to your learning design:

All activities!

Any LAMS activity can be added as a support activity giving plenty of flexibility to your learning design.

A maximum of 5 activities can be added as support activities in a learning design.

Student's view

When opening a lesson, students will be able to access the support activities by using the progress bar (left)

Note that the support activity aren't part of the lesson sequence of activities, but students can access them simply by clicking on the name of the support activity.

Support activities can even be grouped too. So if you require each to have their own instance of the support activity, you just need to add the grouping to the support activity.
