Instructions Add general instructions about how to answer the forum.
The topics section is where you can add the discussion threads.
When adding a discussion topic or thread, these must have a subject and a body.
The body can include all media using the rich text editor.
Alternatively, you can also add file attachments to the posting.
Allow learners to use rich text editor: when this option is on, then students are able to create responses that include rich text formatting in their postings.
Allow learners to add attachments: when enabled, students are able to add attachments to their postings.
Allow learners to change their own postings: if enabled, after students have submitted a posting, they can go back and modify their posting and resubmit their changes.
Enabled anonymous posts: when enabled, students can opt to submit their posting anonymously or using their own name.
Minimum number of characters per posting: set a minumun number of characters within a posting.
Maximum number of characters per posting: set a maximum number of characters within a posting.

Number of posts per learner per thread: set a number of minimum and maximum number of posting that each student has to do before completing the forum activity.

Mapping learning outcomes to activities is very useful for curriculum mapping.
As with all activities in LAMS, you can map your learning outcomes to this activity. If you want to add a learning outcome, just search for the particular outcome or type a new one it will be added to your list of learning outcomes for the future.
You can search Learning Outcomes by code or name.
As in all LAMS activities, you are able to get your students to reflect on the activity as soon as they finish. This is an important part of learning and research shows that it is when we reflect upon what we just learn that long lasting learning forms.
