Task list

The tasks section is where you add the tasks that you want the students to complete.

Adding Tasks

Start by pressing the "Add Task" button to begin.

Tasks have a mandatory title and an optional description (the body of the task).

Tasks settings and options

When adding a task, there are a few configurations and options you can choose according to how you want the students to perform or manage the task.

Required task: when enabled, students' must perform the task.

Allow learners to add comment(s): enable it if you want the students to add commentary to the task you want them to do. For instance, if you run an experiment, you might want students to describe what they done or what they have experience when conducting the task. If you want to enforce that the students add a commentary, you can make this compulsory (see Comment required to complete task).

Allow learners to add file(s): enable this if you want the students to include files as part of the completing the task. For example, you might require a picture of the task the students have performed or a report. If you want to enforce that the students add a file, you can make this compulsory (see Fire required to complete task).

Don't display until parent task has been completed: You can request that task won't show to students if a parent task has not been completed. If you do so, select the parent task. Once the parent task has been completed, then the current task will be shown.

Advanced Settings

Tasks have tbe completed in sequential order: when selecter, the order in which you added the question will be enforced.

Minimal number of tasks to complete: set the minimal tasks that students must complete in order to finish the activity.

Allow students to contribute tasks: In some cases, you might want students to add tasks to the task list. If so, enable this option.

Teacher needs to verity the completed tasks before letting students to complete activity: when this option is on, then you as a teacher must confirmed that the student has performed the tasks (as per your desire) and clear them so they can finish the activity and move on to the next one.

Learning Outcomes

Mapping learning outcomes to activities is very useful for curriculum mapping

As with all activities in LAMS, you can map your learning outcomes to this activity. If you want to add a learning outcome, just search for the particular outcome or type a new one it will be added to your list of learning outcomes for the future. You can search Learning Outcomes by code or name.

Reflection and End of Activity

As in all LAMS activities, you are able to get your students to reflect on the activity as soon as they finish. This is an important part of learning and research shows that it is when we reflect upon what we just learn that long lasting learning forms.
